Position - Senior Planner

Location – Solihull, West Midlands. (Office based)

Department – Winning Work Team.


Who are we after?

A Senior Construction Planner, with at least 5 years relevant experience in the planning of building projects preferably for a main contractor, ideally having worked on projects of value £5m – 50m across a range of construction industry sectors. The ideal candidate will need to demonstrate a varied construction knowledge, be skilled in general IT, be competent with planning software and have an understanding of contractual, commercial and building design requirements.

Working within a team they should be able to demonstrate that they can use their initiative and experience to produce deliverables to tight deadlines when required. They should inspire the team, assist with the coaching of others and continually strive to develop planning processes and opportunities for innovation within the business.

Input would be needed at feasibility, pre-qualification and tender stages, with a watching brief through the construction phase of won opportunities.


What will they be required to do?

Duties to include the following: -
· Input at feasibility/ prequalification stage where needed
· Development of the tender programme
· Interrogation/ challenge subcontractors’ programme and sequence
· Preparation of method statements, logistics plans and sequence plans
· Identification of project risks and opportunity
· Contribution to the development of main contractor preliminaries
· Communication of planning output at tender settling meetings and subsequent interviews with clients’ teams
· Collaboration with all available in-house and external resources in preparation of the bid
