This client was established in 1931 and became a leading interior fit out contractor specialising in the retail sector. In 2006 this client was acquired by a group with a turn over in this country of some £800 million. The parent company is one of the world’s largest in construction and associated services.
This client have recently merged with another organisation to form an Interiors company that now has expertise in both the retail and commercial sectors with a turnover of some £55 million. It is the intention to grow the company to around the £100 million mark in the next 3-4 years.
They have offices in Birmingham and in London and it is the intention to have two business development managers operating from the London office and a further BDM based in Birmingham. The Birmingham position will concentrate primarily on the Retail/Leisure market but also be aware of possible commercial opportunities. As their industry is relationship focussed the base office would not preclude a BDM from having clients in London as long as a focussed and structured approach is employed across the business.
To this end all BDM’s will be backed up by a Sales & Marketing Manager based in Birmingham who will co-ordinate in house graphics for pre-quals, presentations, tender submissions etc together with market intelligence, telesales and appointment making as applicable.
The BDM post in Birmingham requires a highly motivated and energetic individual with the ability to form new relationships and nurture existing clients. This is NOT a door opening position but a full BDM role establishing client trust and playing a major role in the work winning process guiding the estimating and operational resources involved through all pre-construction phases to a successful conclusion.
The relationship should be strong enough that, should there be an issue during the course of a project, the client feels able to pick up the phone to the BDM knowing that the individual will broker a solution. Customer care is a strong focus within the business.
