Our client makes doors for Landrover.
These are first assembled and then welded by Robots. Rather like the car advert for the Passat .
The doors get scratched and can have tiny dents or high spots on the surface. Sometimes you get tiny specs of weld that land on the doors when they are being made. To be painted the surface has to be an A Class finish.
Your job is to use air tools such as hand polishers and hand held linishers to polish the surface of the door. We have found that people who are use to polishing with mops readily adapt. They tend to have the expertise to look for these dents and scratches. It is really the reverse process of polishing using mops.
It is a very physical job. You are given anti vibration clothing and gloves. The rate is £6.75 p/h plus £.68 p/h holiday pay during the trial. The company normally take people on after 13 weeks. You will then get a bonus and shift allowance which take it up to around £8.00 p/h or £312 p/w.
The hours are 6am-2pm on week and 2pm-10pm. It starts immediately and the company normally employ you after 13 weeks. You must be able to work shifts so you must be prepared to travel by bus or car The company is on the 67 bus route which travels from Town through Aston to Castle vale
Candidate must be flexible and love overtime!!!
