    Reporting to the Operations Director you will be expected to offer total support in a varied and challenging environment. This will be an all encompassing role, assisting the all directors and managers in the smooth running of the company and its 150 employees. Confidentiality will be required at all times.

    Developing a business HR strategy will be required, setting short, medium and long term HR aims. You will also be required to facilitate a Health & Safety strategy in co-operation with all areas of the business including maintenance. You will receive the support of the Grayson management team and the input from an outside HR / H&S support agency.

    Duties

    Provide daily, weekly and monthly KPI reports on areas related to HR and H & S.

    Maintenance of employee records.

    Ensure that the company is up to date on all employee legislation and the company employment is amended in accordance with legislative changes.

    Co-ordinate the Personnel policy, this should include:
    1. Absenteeism Procedure
    2. Appraisals
    3. Contracts of Employment
    4. Disciplinary, Suspension & Misconduct
    5. Rules & regulations
    6. Dismissals / Grievances / Harassment
    7. Holidays
    8. Immigration,
    9. Inductions
    10. Staff Consultation
    11. Recruitment of New Staff
    12. Job Specifications
    13. Redundancy and Retirement
    14. Staff handbook
    15. Staff Training

    Welfare and safety of our staff is of primary importance, the HR manager should make recommendations to Directors and Managers to ensure this objective is achieved.

    Recommend any changes to ensue the working environment for all staff is of the highest possible standard, within the budgetary guidelines.

    Produce Riddor reports if accidents within the work place occur. Liaise with our insurers if any injury liability claims are registered.

    Undertake an advisory role to managers on how to deal with staff issues and take an involvement in counselling and disciplinary issues.

    Ensure an appraisal system is in place and that these are regularly being carried out with staff by management.

    From discussions with management, identification from skills matrix and appraisals implement training scheme to allow staff to improve themselves as well as given value and benefit to the business.

    Place advertisements and recruit new staff when required to improve performance of different business sections. Introduce a recruitment strategy into the business to ensure candidates are screened fully and interviewed correctly and fairly.

    Ensure the business has beneficial HR and H & S strategies to offer cost savings to present budgets through it’s operation.

    Daily Working Pattern

    Working from our Tyseley site, you will dictate your daily weekly and monthly work program to meet the agreed objectives we set for the business. You maybe required to visit both field operatives and customers to ensure personnel are following set-down guidelines as well as conducting potential recruitment and appraisal interviews.

    Personal Skills

    Communication with the managers within the Grayson organisation will be of critical importance. A strong relationship will need to be developed between yourself and the Operations Director. You will need to demonstrate an ability to deal calmly with the expected problems which come with such a position.

    You will need to have excellent computer skills, with a high level of competency on Word & Excel. An assured disposition, being able to deal with staff difficulties with a cool head, whilst ensuring the company message is delivered will be required.

    In disputes an understanding of both the company position and staff reasoning will be essential.

    Salary Offered

    Salary : £25,000 - £31,000 ( dependent on experience )

    Annual Leave : 20 days per annum plus all statutory UK bank holidays (4 days to be taken between Christmas and New Year)
