Qualified Social Worker is required to work on the Duty & Assessment Team (DA4). Candidates must have post qualifying experience of working with Children and Families service users.
Also required: Experience of assessing situations and recording to appropriate professional standards. Substantial experience of involvement in child protection procedures and casework. Experience of court work / Ability to present cases to court. Experience as key worker in care/child protection proceedings. Experience of working within a team setting and in partnership with other professionals/agencies. Experience of chairing meetings with professionals/Children in need. Ability to write high quality reports/maintain accurate records/communicate effectively. Ability to work within the relevant statutory framework. Understanding of and ability to practice different models of professional and therapeutic intervention. Ability to apply assessment and care management theory and practice. Able to manage varied Children and Families caseload comprising some complex cases. Capable of mentoring/nurturing professional development of less experienced Social Work colleagues. Able to understand the needs of service users experiencing social exclusion, abuse or other detrimental life circumstances. Able to work with service users from ethnic minority backgrounds. Able to demonstrate personal commitment to equality of opportunity and anti-discriminatory practice. Prepared to work flexibly, to best meet the needs of the service and service users.
Role is FULL-TIME; duration 3-6 months, subject to review. Must be a car-driver.
