| Call Handler Police Headquarters, Leek Wootton £15,687 - 18,969 pa + shift allowance Working in our modern Control Room, you will deal with a large volume of '999' emergency calls, general calls and other service requests. You perform a vital role and contribute to protecting our communities from harm. As an emergency service we never close. You will be part of a shift pattern that provides cover 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. You will need to be able to think and act quickly, be a good listener, assess the situation and prioritise the calls that you receive. All of the information you recieve will be entered onto our computerised control system so good keyboard skills are essential. A customer services based qualification is desirable but not essential. As would previous experience of working in a busy customer focused environment. Opportunities for development are available for enthusiastic individuals. Teamwork, an ability to multi task and to work well under pressure are essential qualities. But above all else we are looking for good communicators, committed to providing excellent customer service and who want to make a difference.
