| Police HQ, Leek Wootton Working in our newly refurbished state of the art Control Room, you will control resources according to priority and need, working in close liaison with Area Supervisors to ensure appropriate service delivery in line with current organisational priorities and policies. As an emergency service we never close. You will be part of a shift pattern that provides cover 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. You will need to be able to evaluate, continually prioritise and disseminate information to a range of internal and external partners. This will include co-ordinating, monitoring and despatching police resources in order to protect our communities from harm. Previous experience in an emergency control room environment is essential as is an ability to be appropriately assertive when necessary. All of the information you receive will be entered onto our computerised control system so good keyboard skills are essential. A customer services based qualification is desirable but not essential. Teamwork, an ability to multitask and to work well under pressure are all essential qualities but paramount will be your ability to communicate clearly and effectively, giving an excellent customer service that will make a real difference.
