Design Engineer
Our client currently has a vacancy for a Mechanical Design Engineer to work in the Engineering Department. This vacancy is a permanent position however persons wishing to work on a contract basis will be considered.
The clients design and manufacture equipment for the pharmaceutical industry, including blenders, sampling equipment, sieving equipment, hoists, and containers such as drums. They manufacture's the world's largest range of tumble blenders, and customers include all the major blue chip multinationals. Our Client is an ISO 9001:2000 registered company with around 40 employees, based on the outskirts of Birmingham.
The individual will be responsible for the following:
- Production of general arrangement drawings.
- Production of full sets of detail manufacturing drawings for each project.
- Design tasks and prototyping in relation to R&D projects as required.
- Some simple calculation/specification tasks such as motor sizing, bearing selection, etc.
The following skills and experience are required:
- Design experience using Solidworks and AutoCad and detail design experience.
- Experience of drafting to BS308, including sheet metal fabrication design and machined parts/assemblies.
The following additional skills are desirable but not essential as training will be provided:
- Design for pharmaceutical environments (GMP design).
- Stress analysis experience, either hand calcs or using Ansys or Cosmos.
- Experience of pneumatic and hydraulic circuit design.
- Control system design experience (HMI screens and PLCs).
