The purpose of this position is to assist the compliance team in assuring that service partners achieve acceptable performance levels in respect of engineering maintenance and that statutory maintenance inspections are carried out for all statutory assets and statutory remedial works are planned and completed in an appropriate timescale. Operates the “gateway process” used to manage technical queries from the regional teams and the maintenance service partners. Forwards queries, tracks progress and acts as the contact point for updates on status.
Main Duties & Responsibilities Monitoring
Monitors the maintenance database to ensure that new assets have been identified and recorded and that appropriate job plans have been established.
Using the maintenance database and other databases / spreadsheets, reviews inspections identified by the service partner, to ensure that they have been planned and completed.
Pre-checks statutory certification on receipt from the service partner. Operates the electronic database where certification is stored.
Monitors the maintenance database to ensure that corrective maintenance work orders have been raised for remedial works identified on statutory certification.
Receives and reviews service partner reports in respect of portable appliance testing. Provides reports on status e.g. exception reports on request.
Assists the compliance team in review of documentation in respect of water hygiene e.g. water risk assessments and water hygiene maintenance regimes.
Assists the compliance team with review of statutory remedial works deemed in-scope, decides if appropriate supporting documentation has been provided. Assists in deciding on scope and evaluation of costs.
Receives technical queries/problems from regional service delivery personnel (gateway process) and forwards details to relevant regional technical manager for review.
Inputs query details onto database (gateway) and tracks progress to resolution by maintaining contact with attending regional technical manager.
Reporting
Assists the compliance team in provision of reports on statutory certification and remedial works for distribution to regional technical managers, regional teams, senior management and client. · Provides exception reports on status of certification.
Provides reports on status of remedial work completion.
Maintains records as directed.
Provides status and other reports to regional technical managers on request in respect of the gateway process. Any other duties consistent with the level and responsibilities of the post as directed by the line manager.
Person Specification Essential
Engineering/technical qualification e.g. ONC/City & Guilds in a building services-related subject or equivalent experience.
Understanding of current statutory certification requirements in the building services industry
Understanding of building services operation and maintenance, legislative requirements.
Experience of working with technical management processes and procedures
Sound written and verbal communication skills
Good IT skills and able to work with bespoke engineering databases and compile reports.
Desirable
Experience in a similar role.
Safety qualification e.g. IOSH.
Experience of working with a computerised maintenance management system
