Knowledge of the Gzam system

Hallade using first principals and excel spreadsheets
Theodolite Straights
Vertical alignment
General Arrangements
Drainage
Material Specification
Preparation of Form A & B documents
S&C including: -
Working with Topographical Surveys
S&C Design in AutoCAD & MX Rail
Co-Planer vertical alignments through S&C
General Arrangements including Multi discipline GA’s
1:50 Detailed S&C manufactures drawings
Preparation of Form A & B documents
General; -
Optioneering designs, both Horizontally and Vertically.
General scheme layouts – Depots / Sidings
Drainage Design
Liaison with Clients – communication skills
Preparation of feasibility reports
You will have knowledge of the following software: -
Good communication skills,
Strong IT skills
Able to work with minimal supervision
Able to produce neat clear calculations in a structured format
Ability to undertake surveys, including leveling.
Ability to undertake and lead survey teams in Hallade & Theodolite straight & Levelling
Knowledge of Laser Rail’s equipment for gauging
Good knowledge of Pway Geometry and Maths
Willingness to work unsociable hours – Nights / Weekends (occasional)
Qualifications:
Civil or Structural Engineering degree considered, however OND/HND in Civil Engineering qualification would be considered with some experience.
Working towards IEng, CEng, MICE
Personal Qualities:
Suitable applicants must demonstrate good leadership skills, be a self-starter and team player.
Shown good self-motivation and initiative.
The role demands some flexibility to meet the demands of the rail industry
Experience
Must have relevant experience of working with a Consultant or Contractor focused on design within the Rail industry is essential for the Senior Engineer, and relevant experience for the Principal Engineer with a Consultant.
