For this continue an opportunity has arisen for a Senior Planner to be based in their Birmingham office.

Knowledge of the tender construction process from inception through to completion

Knowledge and experience of planning/programming techniques and procedures, including experience in using proprietary computerised planning software.

Key duties & Areas of responsibility
Preconstruction
Assist in preparing prequalification documents
offer preliminary planning advice to potential clients
Work as part of a team to prepare tenders, including:
Prepare tender programmes, site layouts, method statements
Price preliminaries
Prepare scaffold/temporary electrics schedule for pricing
Attend internal tender settlement meetings
Attend client interview/presentations required
Act as a bid leader on 2 stage tenders
Construction
Work as part of the construction team to ensure that projects are planned and monitored correctly, including:
Communicate tender programme/prelims plus assumptions made to the project team
Prepare contract/approved programmes
Prepare design programmes & procurement programmes
Prepare target/short term/subcontractor programmes
Assess the impact of variations on the programme and make appropriate submissions (eg. as required by ECC form of contract)
Identify opportunities for bettering proposed programme
Monitor progress against programmes and provide feedback to subcontractors, site team, senior management, other planners and estimating teams.
Provide independent assessment of progress for input in the Board Report.
