Mechanical Associate required to continue the development of the business in the Midlands region. The role will provide the opportunity to work on a range of challenging, dynamic and high-profile projects.

The Birmingham office covers the Midlands region (generally the administrative counties of Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Gloucestershire, Warwickshire, Northamptonshire, Leicestershire, Staffordshire, Shropshire and the West Midlands) and is the administrative centre of the Midland and South Division.
It is one of the largest regional offices and undertakes a wide range of work for clients within the region. This includes infrastructure in the form of highways, bridges, railways, traffic and metro systems, structural design, building services, wastewater treatment, geotechnical and contaminated land engineering, tunnels, drainage and sewerage and PFI technical advisory work.
The successful applicant will join a busy and successful team, and take responsibility for:
· Ensuring technical excellence is achieved on projects
· Management of an M&E design team in the detail design of projects to achieve the clients intent
· Attending meetings to establish and develop client briefs
· Developing conceptual mechanical design solutions
· Produce tender documentation and advise clients on the appointment of sub-contractors
· Implementation of clients strategy to ensure that the quality is prevalent
· Delivering the projects on time and to budget
· Developing further business opportunities
· Ensuring full compliance of all policies and procedures relating to the design process, quality and commercial issues
· Design calculations
· Preparation of technical specifications
· Conducting technical and detailed design audits
To be considered you will need to demonstrate a stable background working within the Building Services Industry as a Mechanical Design Engineer.
Essential:
· Degree qualified (or equivalent) in relevant subject
· Competent in all aspects of mechanical building services design, ideally with technical expertise to Chartered Engineer level or above
· Excellent written and oral communication skills
· Excellent team working skills
· Ability to collate information and have a clear and structured approach to report writing
· Good commercial awareness and results orientated
· Self motivated with a positive and friendly attitude
· Proven track record in team management
· Background in project management
Desirable:
Proven track record in Marketing Financial management background Good interpersonal Skills
