Job profile:

In this position, you have the objective of developing knowledge and technology and providing support to the business divisions of our client. You are able to define, manage and execute projects that involve both internal and external resources. As a team member in interdisciplinary projects, you will contribute to the integration of our technology development into our products and business by providing your knowledge to the divisions and to ERC. Also you will build and grow with our client’s internal network, as well as an external network with suppliers, universities and third parties.

Areas of interest are: The integration of tribochemical processes and mechanics, dynamic contact mechanics, lubrication, thermal effects, friction, multi-layer modeling surface fatigue, wear, plasticity and rolling contact mechanics.

Your profile:

·You have a PhD in Tribology, ideally with (at least) 2 to 3 years experience in research after degree.
·You are experienced in numerical methods (multigrid, FEM) in EHL knowledge.
·You have knowledge in topography, starvation and/or grease effects, it is highly valuable.
·You have knowledge in measurement techniques in EHL, highly valuable.
·You have knowledge in fast calculation semi-analytical techniques.
·You can build, maintain and grow with our client’s internal network, as well as an external network with (steel) suppliers, universities and third parties.
·You have understanding of knowledge management tools, it is a plus.
·You have an explorative mind set with an innovative scientific approach.
·You have experience in working in projects and at least the potential to be a project leader.
·You are a self-motivated, pro-active team worker. You are customer-focused and result oriented.
·You have excellent communication skills and a good command of the English language.
