| Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor Reporting to: Director of Quantity Surveying JOB SUMMARY Reporting to the Director of Quantity Surveying, the Post Holder will manage costs on projects within the UK with the aim of maximising cash flow & profitability. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1.Arranging adequate contractual insurances as required. 2.Completing Contract Set Up forms, e.g. Contract Sums, Key data, Team etc. 3.Providing a cash flow forecast. 4.Providing Preliminary analysis incorporating projected values versus projected cost 5.Setting up the reporting forms for value & cost reconciliations and reviewing procurement and quantity surveying reports. Completing reconciliations and associated cost reports for materials, plant & preliminary costs. Completing internal reports as necessary. 6.Arranging statutory utility orders, i.e. gas, water, electricity, telecommunications. 7.Verifying the main contract documents with the relevant Estimator prior to obtaining signature by the Directors. 8.Processing external valuations and agreeing any variations 9.Administration of consultants: – appointment & payment as appropriate (largely relevant to design and build contracts). 10.Sending selected sub-contract enquiries & placing orders. Arranging payment of sub-contractors including setting off for skips, security, cleaning etc. Reviewing sub-contract procurement schedules. Monitoring sub-contract documents. 11.Ensuring that “Confirmation of Verbal Instructions” are recorded and sent to external consultants. Carrying out: measurements & re-measurements, design and build variation order control procedure and monitoring retentions. 12.Assist with preparation of claims in conjunction with the Director of Quantity Surveying. 13.Preparing final accounts in accordance with the Company’s Final Account procedure. Analysing final accounts ensuring that they are reviewed and signed off by the Director of Quantity Surveying. 14.Conducting visits to construction sites across the United Kingdom as required. 15.To undertake any other duties of a similar nature consistent with the responsibilities of this post. |
