Job Description

Assistant Maintenance Engineer required for a large and well established environmental business.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: Supervise the day to day site maintenance function including site and contractors staff, liaising with operations staff to ensure a high level of service.

Responsibilities include:

  • Operation of the planned maintenance systems, including work planning, co-ordination and plant history for routine tasks and statutory requirements.

  • Assessment of plant defects, specifying remedial action and proposal of modifications where appropriate, to maintain plant reliability and availability.

  • Assist in planning and supervision of planned maintenance outages including specification of work, quality control and co-ordination between all parties involved.

  • Assist in preparing site maintenance budgets and work within approved budgets

  • Ensure compliance with the company\'s Quality and Environmental Management System and Health & Safety

THE CANDIDATE The ideal candidate will be an Apprentice Trained Engineer / Technician, ideally qualified to HNC standard in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline. Knowledge of current H&S legislation, experience of COMAH & CDM is desirable.

You will have a minimum of 5 years practical experience in maintenance plus experience in a supervisory maintenance role within a process industry, preferably gained in a chemical, waste incineration or power generation environment.
