Job Description

Our client manufactures automated container loading systems

Lorries with containers normally have loads removed, loaded by a reach stacker.

Our client has automated this process and is looking for a Technical Sales Engineer to sell this capital equipment to major exporters.

As a Technical Sales Engineer you need to combine your technical knowledge with sales skills.

The emphasis of the work varies depending on the level of technical knowledge and understanding needed to sell competently, this new system, and respond effectively to clients' queries.

Clients are usually technical organisation's and require information to justify the capital expenditure.

In addition, as the companies Technical Sales Engineer you will liaise regularly with other members of the team from a range of departments, such as design, purchasing, production, and quality, and senior company managers.

Our client has a very strong core business with a turnover of 150 million and are looking to move into this new market.

You will need to have successfully sold capital equipment for a branded company or similar.

Your approach must innovative, you will have to demonstrate your abilities to sell this product.

Responsibilities:

· Searching for new clients and maximising customer potential in designated regions;

· Travelling to visit potential clients;

· Establishing new, long-term relationships with customers;

· Managing and interpreting customer requirements - listening to clients and using astute questioning to understand, anticipate and exceed their needs;

· Persuading clients that this new system will best satisfy their needs in terms of quality, price and delivery;

· Calculating client quotations;

· Negotiating terms, to meet both client and company needs;

· Analysing costs and sales;

· Progress manufacturing of orders;

· Meeting regular sales targets;

· Recording and maintaining client contact data;

· Supporting marketing activities by attending trade shows, conferences and other marketing events;

· Making technical presentations and demonstrating how a product will meet client needs;

· Providing pre-sales technical assistance and product education;

· Solving client problems;
